To be completely honest, I've sort have been cheating on this. I haven't been on any of my accounts, but I've been indulging by using Parks' instagram. Crazy. Although I don't personally have been uploading or anything I'd still look at his timeline. Haven't looked at my own stuff though. I feel very good about it even though I've been cheating. I'm in NO rush to run to twitter or facebook now.
Spent the last few days in New York. Maybe this a blog post for the other blogs that I have, but I certainly had a great time. Shout out to my Jimmy, Yas, Brent, Rocky, and all the other NYC heads that we got to chop it up with.
Also, finished that Marc EckÅ book on branding. Pretty damn good. I really enjoyed reading that book while in the same city that Ecko built a billion dollar brand in. Same environment. Same music. Hopefully I can achieve something similar....

Day 3
Day 3 was much easier. I didn't think it would be hard to do this, but I didn't think it would be this easy.
I'm feeling more focused on my work now. Very productive.
Also, I bought that book on personal branding. Should be interesting to read during this social media fasting.
Be authentic to your brand.

Day 2
This isn't as bad as I thought it would be. Need to rid myself of some bad habits.
Found myself naturally unlocking my phone to open up twitter & instagram.
Probably saved myself a lot of time on browsing.
Read up on the Blackberry sales & Rob Ford shit. Pretty entertaining.
Oh and also listened to this informative streetwear/creative podcast with Marc Ecko. Please re-listen to this when you get the chance.
Probably staying in the office late tonight. Have a dirty amount of work to do.

Day 1 of Being Unplugged
One thing that's been crazy to see is the epidemic of cell phone usage and social media noise in our lives.
There really isn't a moment in silence. When you're waiting for the train, you're on the phone checking your instagram, twitter, facebook, or the score.
For example, when people are waiting for their coffee at Starbucks it's weird to see that the conversation with the baristas has been lost. After ordering, people immediately look down at their phones to indulge in the social realm.
For what?
If I need to expel negative energy? Go to the gym, play ball, do yoga.

For what?
To see what your friends are doing? Why not call or text them? Interact.
To creep a crush? Approach them.
To keep tabs on an enemy? Squash it, focus on your own life. Push yourself forward
I'm not saying I'm above and beyond all of this. I'm guilty of all of it.
I simply want to focus on getting to a productive momentum that will lead me to a strong start in 2014.
If I have a free moment, read a book.
If I'm craving social interaction, connect with a friend. Go meet people.
If I need to expel negative energy? Go to the gym, play ball, do yoga.
There's so much that one can do in these moments instead of viewing what your friends & family are constantly doing. Fuck it, create your own memories. Live it up, Ja Rule.
If people want to check up on you, they'll find you. Bottom line.
So this is Day 1. Twitter deleted. Facebook deleted. IG logged off. Let's see how this goes. I think I'll enjoy the distance.
